Republican Chris Forster launches website for House District 21 campaign
FARMINGTON, CONN. - Republican Chris Forster has launched a campaign website, www.chrisforster.org, for his bid to bring fiscal responsibility to the Connecticut General Assembly in this year’s election cycle.
“Connecticut’s perpetual state budget failures will continue harming communities like Farmington and Unionville until we send new, fiscally responsible leadership to the General Assembly,” Forster said.
Forster, a Republican who serves on the Farmington Zoning Board of Appeals, has announced his intent to run for the Connecticut House of Representatives’ 21st District, which includes Farmington and Unionville.
An accomplished government finance professional with a reputation for relentless pursuit of efficiency, Forster has pledged to bring fiscal responsibility to the General Assembly. Forster holds a Certificate in Public Financial Management and is comptroller for the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities Board of Regents.
“This campaign is all about getting a better a return on the investment Connecticut taxpayers and citizens make into their government. High taxes and growing debts have provided zero return for communities like Farmington and Unionville who have seen the fair share we pay continually mismanaged by Governor Malloy and his allies in the General Assembly,” Forster said.
Forster, 32, is a strong fiscal conservative and active in several community groups, serving as board member for the Exchange Club, commissioner for the Unionville Historic District and commissioner for Farmington’s Conservation and Inlands Wetlands Commission.
“Our community firmly believes fixing the budget is the first step to improving problems with Connecticut’s job market, economy and education funding. Our website, chrisforster.org, is a place voters can go to learn why I have the skills to help do that job and put Connecticut back on track,” Forster said.
Forster and his wife, Dr. Jessica Forster, a veterinarian, live in Unionville with their daughter, Delilah. The Forsters are graduates of the University of Connecticut, where Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a master of public administration degree. When his wife finished undergraduate work and began earning her doctorate at Oklahoma State University, Chris held multiple senior finance positions in city and state government in Oklahoma, where he helped usher in financial and operational reforms that saved and reduced government spending by millions of dollars while improving efficiency. The Forsters returned to Connecticut to raise their family and settled in Unionville for the areas historic charm, high quality town services, nationally recognized school system and fiscally responsible government.
