Republican Chris Forster qualifies for public
financing in House District 21 bid

FARMINGTON – Chris Forster, the Republican nominee for House District 21 in the Connecticut General Assembly, has qualified for public campaign financing from Connecticut’s Citizens Election Program. To qualify for public financing, state House candidates must raise $5,000 in donations from $5 to $100 and receive a minimum of 150 donations from individuals who reside in a municipality represented by the district.

“We have received overwhelming support from the residents of Farmington. People are ready for a change in Hartford. They are looking for someone with the background and experience necessary to help bring back fiscal responsibility in our state,” Forster said.

House District 21 covers Farmington and Unionville. Forster is running for State Representative following his overwhelming election last year to the Farmington Zoning Board of Appeals.

Forster, the comptroller for the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities, holds a Certificate in Public Financial Management and is active in several community groups, serving as board member for the Exchange Club, commissioner for the Unionville Historic District and former commissioner for Farmington’s Conservation and Inlands Wetlands Commission.

Forster and his wife, Dr. Jessica Forster, a veterinarian, live in Unionville with their daughter, Delilah. After earning a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science and a master of public administration degree from the University of Connecticut, Forster held multiple senior finance positions in city and state government in Oklahoma, where he and Jessica moved so she could earn her doctorate at Oklahoma State University. They returned to Connecticut to raise their family and settled in Unionville for the area’s historic charm, high quality town services, nationally recognized school system and fiscally responsible government.
